Dear Supporters:

Throughout my political career, both in the Florida legislature and in Washington, I have been recognized as a fighter on behalf of my constituents.  And my campaign slogan, “Corrine Delivers” remains the most apt description of my style of public service, as I have brought hundreds of millions of federal dollars back to communities throughout my District and the State of Florida.

I’ve brought thousands of jobs to the District, holding yearly job fairs and small and disadvantaged business programs, supporting Job Corps and other training programs, and advocating for job creators like CSX Railroad, Florida Rock, and the Cecil Commerce Center.  

I’ve used my seniority on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee to increase Florida’s transportation funding from 77 cents to 95 cents, authorized the JAXPORT dredging project and the Mile Point navigational hazard repair, earmarked millions of dollars for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) and the Jacksonville International Airport, and secured funding to restore passenger rail to the Gulf Coast, including a stop in Jacksonville.

Sadly, the Department of Justice has smeared my good name, and in the process has significantly hindered my ability to raise campaign funds.  During the battle for my Congressional seat I incurred considerable debt that still needs to be paid off.

All of us prayed for an election victory on Tuesday. Just because we didn’t get what we wanted doesn’t mean He didn’t hear us. It just means He didn’t give us the answer we wanted to hear.

We fought a battle with one arm tied behind our backs. You know they’ve been after me for years. Tuesday they won a battle.

We are a strong people. We’re descendants of people who survived the Middle Passage. We have survived centuries of abuse. We are strong. We are still standing.

Tuesday was a setback, not a defeat.

I’ve been so blessed to have served this community for 24 years in Congress.

I’ve done my best to make our community better for children, families and working people both here and around the country.

This has been the most challenging campaign of my career. I’m so grateful to all friends and supporters who helped me campaign from Jacksonville to Tallahassee. I can never thank you enough for your prayers, positive spirit and unlimited energy.

I was amazed to see how many thousands of supporters took advantage of Early Voting. Now we’re in the home stretch and my team and I want to do everything possible to make sure everyone else makes it to the polls on Tuesday.

You can Early Vote Sunday in Leon County

Early Voting will be available in Leon County on Sunday (Aug. 28) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 2990-1 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee.

Friends of Corrine Brown will provide free rides to the polls for FAMU students.  Make sure you bring a photo ID and signature ID. Voters will be picked up and dropped off at Lee Hall and Greek Wall. Transportation will be provided between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

I need your help

Hello Friends,

Running a re-election campaign is a lot like driving a car on the interstate. Everything is fine until the gas starts running low.

Political contributions are the gas that fuels political campaigns and our gauge light is flashing red. I’ve never liked asking for campaign contributions, but to keep my campaign moving forward I’m respectfully asking you to make a contribution by clicking here.

The campaign funds are used to pay for office space, events, equipment, material and travel. Unlike many other candidates, we’ve avoided paying for six-figure consultants and expensive TV ads.

This year’s campaign has been particularly challenging and expensive because the redistricting vastly expanded the district that now stretches from Jacksonville to Tallahassee.

To make matters worse, a recent report in the Florida Politics blog shows that the same same Big Money Republican groups backing Donald Trump and Gov. Rick Scott have poured thousands of dollars into the campaign of my "Democratic" challenger Al Lawson. It's easy to understand who Al Lawson would work for in Congress. It won't be you.

My team and I are spending a great deal of time traveling across the district renewing friendships and making new friends that I would be honored to represent in Congress. I’ve learned so much meeting with residents and hearing their concerns that include jobs, health-care costs, veterans’ issues, Social Security, transportation and so much more.

We dropped the ball

This weekend I let down a special supporter and I’m very sorry.

I promised Virgie Coleman – a wonderful volunteer at the Lake Wiley Senior Center -- I would have a driver pick her up on Saturday to attend a special campaign breakfast event in Jacksonville.

Sad to say that we had a miscommunication within the campaign and dropped the ball.

I’m extremely sorry that we disappointed Ms. Coleman. I’m also very grateful that Ms. Coleman graciously accepted our apology.

Dear Journalists,

The court case is the only thing you reporters want to ask me about.

Once and for all: I AM INNOCENT.

Let me ask you folks a question: What if I accused you guys of being pedophiles?

I bet that didn’t feel too good, did it?

Well that’s how I feel, especially because I’m innocent.

Despite this, you guys come at me like a lynch mob demanding that I prove my innocence in a 20-second sound bite.

Maybe you were goofing off in your middle-school civics class but in the United States of America accused people are innocent unless proven otherwise.

An indictment is an accusation. It is NOT a conviction.

You worship the Constitution’s First Amendment so maybe you never got to the Fifth Amendment that says it’s the prosecution’s job to prove guilt.

I don’t have to prove my innocence to the court or to the news media.

When I’m on the campaign trail voters greet me enthusiastically. Voters never ask about the court case. They want to discuss jobs, health care, veterans’ issues, Social Security, transportation, homeland security, the environment and other important issues. Mayors and other local elected officials want the same personal service I’ve provided for more than 20 years to Orlando, Eatonville, Gainesville, Palatka, Ocala and other communities.

North Florida voters will judge me by my track record of service and accomplishments. They know and appreciate what I’ve done to make this state and country better.
